Group Meeting 20/09/11

Our very first brainstorm session lead to the idea of a girl band, as an all-female group who were keen to perform.
Charley had the idea of a song by The Saturdays called Puppet.

We thought it would be a good song to make a music video too because of the puppet idea - it would be really fun to have the three headstrong female singers treating a man like a puppet and bossing him around, breaking the stereotype of male dominance in a relationship.

However, when we discussed the idea with Ms Blackborow, she told us to be wary of The Saturdays as they are already a very current, established group and it would be hard to create our own identity, as we would end up just being a glamorous girl group, pretty much the same as The Saturdays. She encouraged us to go for a more rocky, rebellious style so we could create our own band identity without trying to fill The Saturdays' shoes. We were keen on this idea as it might be more fun to play a rockier band and maybe even play instruments.

After some discussion we favoured a song by Rogue Traders called Watching You, as there is a female lead singer and instruments, so all three of us would have a role.
